I purchased my first Ridgeback in 1999 and shortly afterwards began showing
him and getting more involved in the local Ridgeback community. My wife, Susan, and I now have four Ridgebacks
and, in addition to showing, our dogs love to lure course, go backpacking with us (they have their own packs!), chase deer
off our property, keep the couch from flying away by graciously napping on it for us and making sure all the food in the house
is up to snuff.
It has been exciting to see the Chesapeake Bay Area Rhodesian Ridgeback Club
grow in membership and activity over the last several years and I would like to see the club continue to sponsor events, hold
fun days and draw local Ridgeback owners into an environment that is fun for both the dogs and their people.
I would like to see CBARRC continue to take steps to foster education in
the local dog owner community, and also to raise awareness for Ridgeback Rescue and other issues that affect everyone who
loves Rhodesian Ridgebacks and dogs in general.
